The Aeros and Admirals open up a home-and-home. Houston is 2-1-0-0 this season against Milwaukee, having split two games at Toyota Center January 21-23. The Aeros are 35-37-7-2 all-time versus the Admirals, including a 19-17-4-2 home mark.

Milwaukee (23-17-3-5) is third in the West Division with 54 points, with a 1-1-0-1 record in its last three games. Saturday, the Admirals wrapped up an exhausting stretch of seven games in nine nights, posting a 3-3-0-1 mark.

Fri, at MIL, 7 p.m.
The Aeros defeated the Admirals 4-2 in their lone trip to Milwaukee this season on November 15. Houston is 16-20-3-0 all-time at Bradley Center in the regular season.

Posted a goal in three of team's four games last week...Both his Tuesday goal against Milwaukee and Saturday goal at Hartford came with extra attacker in the final minute and forced overtime...Tuesday's goal was the first shorthanded goal of his career...Leads Aeros in goals (career-high 18) and points (34)...After scoring just one goal on the road in first half of season, scored two last week.

Notables –
  • Rookie RW Danny Irmen posted three goals over the Aeros' final two games last week. Irmen ranks tied for 25th among all AHL rookies with 25 points (14-11=25). Irmen is tied with teammate LW Benoit Pouliot (16-9=25).
  • C Jason Morgan played in his 600th career professional game on Saturday in Hartford.
  • One of the Aeros' oldest records fell Saturday in Hartford, when they put up 24 shots on goal in the third period. Houston broke the team record for most shots on goal on the road in a period, a mark that was originally set February 7, 1996, in the first period at Cleveland. The Aeros' team record for shots in a period overall is 25, set most recently at Toyota Center on October 26, 2003.
  • The Aeros have allowed the game’s first goal in 14 of their last 16 games, including nine straight overall and nine straight on the road. The Aeros haven’t scored the first goal in a game since January 7 against San Antonio. On the road, Houston hasn’t taken a 1-0 lead since December 14, the only game in a span of 13 road games the Aeros have broken on top early.
  • Houston is 0-7-2-0 against the Eastern Conference since March 2005. The Aeros have just one game left against the East this season, a home tilt against Worcester in March.
  • The Aeros have lost eight straight one-goal games (0-5-2-1) and are 0-2-2-0 in their last four overall – all one-goal decisions. The Aeros are 6-8-2-5 in one-goal games, tied for the AHL lead in non-wins in one-goal games (15). Houston’s last one-goal win was a 4-3 shootout decision at Chicago on December 27. The Aeros have only two non shootout one-goal wins, the last coming 3-2 at Iowa on November 9.
  • The Aeros are 0-7-1-1 when G Josh Harding doesn’t see action in a game. Harding was reassigned to the Aeros from the NHL's Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
  • After their first nine overtime games went to a shootout, the Aeros have seen two straight extra session games end in the five-minute period – both losses.
  • The Aeros reassigned goalie Miroslav Kopriva to ECHL Texas on Monday. Kopriva is 0-1-1 with a 2.79 gaa and a .903 save pct. in three games with the Aeros this season. Kopriva is 8-1-2 with a 2.89 gaa and a .902 save pct. with the Wildcatters this season.

    The National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild is in third place in the Northwest Division with 56 points (26-21-4)…The Wild sits in eighth place overall in the Western Conference… Minnesota continues a five-game road trip Tuesday in St. Louis, Thursday at Colorado and Saturday at Phoenix…C Wyatt Smith has two assists in 36 games and is averaging 9:09 TOI.

    The ECHL’s Texas Wildcatters went 1-1-1-0 in a three-game home set with South Carolina last week…The Wildcatters are 24-12-3-3 for 54 points, tied for first place in the South Division with Gwinnett… Texas plays host to Long Beach on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to finish a seven-game homestand…D Mike Madill (3-28=31), and D Paul Albers(9-20=29), both Minnesota Wild contracts and ECHL All-Stars, rank fifth and tied for sixth, respectively, among all ECHL defensemen despite their rookie status…F Mark Rooneem has 12 points (6-6=12)…Riley Emmerson has three points (2-1=3) and 81 PIM’s…C Alex Leavitt has 16 points (6-10=16) in 16 games…G Matt Yeats, who attended Aeros camp, is 16-10-3-1 with a 3.26 gaa and a .907 save pct.

    The Central Hockey League’s Austin Ice Bats are 15-17-8 and tied for third place in the Southeast Division…G Tony Quesada is 1-4-1 with a 2.83 gaa and a .908 save pct.


    Aeros pick up two of eight points

    Tuesday: Milwaukee’s Ramzi Abid scored a power play goal 16 seconds into overtime after Houston’s Matt Foy forced the extra session with a shorthanded, extra attacker goal with 15 ticks left in regulation, as the Admirals outlasted the Aeros 3-2 at Toyota Center.
    Shawn Belle scored his third goal in two games and Josh Harding made 29 stops for Houston.

    Wednesday: Tomas Plihal netted the game-winner with 2:27 left in regulation and Dmitri Patzold made 22 saves, as the Worcester Sharks knocked off the Houston Aeros 3-2 at DCU Center. Joel Ward tallied Houston’s fourth shorthanded goal in as many games, Matt Foy also scored and Dieter Kochan made 17 stops in his second start of the season.

    Friday: Matt Moulson, Noah Clarke and Shay Stephenson scored a goal apiece and Barry Brust made 28 saves, as the Manchester Monarchs defeated the Houston Aeros 3-2 at Verizon Wireless Arena.
    Danny Irmen scored two goals and Dieter Kochan made 46 saves for the Aeros.

    Saturday: Hartford’s Ryan Callahan completed a hat trick with 1:50 gone in overtime after Houston’s Matt Foy tied the game with 36 seconds left in regulation, and Steve Valiquette made 42 saves, as the Hartford Wolf Pack downed the Houston Aeros 4-3 at Hartford Civic Center.
    Danny Irmen and Joel Ward also scored and Miroslav Kopriva made 24 saves for the Aeros.
