FORMER AERO SMITH NAMED TO NHL’S ALL-ROOKIE TEAM
NEW YORK – Former Houston Aeros goaltender and current Dallas Star Mike Smith was named to the National Hockey League’s All-Rookie Team last week.
Smith went 19-17-3 with a 2.42 gaa and a .915 save pct. for Houston in 2004-05, when the Aeros had a dual affiliation with Minnesota and Dallas. Smith was 12-5-2 with a 2.23 gaa and a .912 save pct. this season for Dallas.
In 2004-05, Smith and Josh Harding combined to provide the Aeros with one of the top young netminding duos in recent memory in the AHL. Harding spent the final three months of the 2006-07 season in Minnesota, going 3-2-1 with a sparkling 1.16 gaa and a .960 save pct.
