TRAVIS ROCHE NAMED TO CANADIAN NATIONAL TEAM AND WILL PARTICIPATE IN DEUTSCHLAND CUP NEXT WEEK
HOUSTON - Houston Aeros defenseman Travis Roche has been loaned to the Canadian National Team by the Minnesota Wild (National Hockey League) and will participate in the Deutschland Cup Tournament from November 8 10 in Hanover, Germany. Roche will miss two Aeros games, November 7 vs. Grand Rapids and November 10 vs. San Antonio.
Roche currently leads Aeros defensemen with three goals, including two scored on the power play, and ranks third in points with five. Last season, he played in 60 games with the Aeros and finished with 13 goals, 21 assists and 34 points. He also played in four games with Minnesota.
Roche joins six other players who have been loaned by their respective NHL teams to the Canadian National Team. The remainder of the roster is comprised of players currently playing in Europe.
Along with the tournament on November 8 10, the National Team will play an exhibition game against Germany in Cologne on November 6. Germany, Switzerland and the United States will also be competing in the Deutschland Cup Tournament.
