AEROS, RIVERMEN DONATE $5,000 IN HONOR OF FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS
HOUSTON, Texas – On Sunday, April 12 Houston firefighters Captain James A. Harlow and Damion J. Hobbs lost their lives in the line of duty. The Houston Aeros would like to give a special thank you to our amazing fans and the Peoria Rivermen organization and their gracious fans collectively donated $5,000 to help the firefighters' families. During the Saturday, April 18th Game Three of the playoff series, the Last Alarm Club received the donation in memory of the fallen firefighters. The donation was a true testament of your generosity!
During the game HFD District Chief Gregory dropped the ceremonial first puck and was presented with the donation to the Last Alarm Club from each team's captain to help aid the firefighters’ families. In addition, a “boot collection” was held on the concourse and proceeds from “Chuck-A-Puck” presented by Buc-ee's were donated. Following the contest, the number one star of the game, Corey Locke, wore a Houston Fire Department hat to show his support.
