HOUSTON AEROS RECALL BRANDON BUCK FROM FLORIDA

     HOUSTON – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Nathan Smith from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Wild also placed center/left wing Benoit Pouliot on injured reserve. Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced the team has recalled left wing Brandon Buck from the Florida Everblades (ECHL).

     Smith, 27 (2/9/82), has recorded five penalty minutes (PIM) in six games with the Wild this season, making his season debut Oct. 14 at Anaheim. The 6-foot-2, 206-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta, has six points (3-3=6) and 41 PIM in 15 games with the Aeros. Smith, Vancouver’s first-round selection (No. 23 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, was signed by the Wild as a free agent July 22. Smith wears No. 27 with Minnesota.

     Buck, 21 (8/16/88), has eight points (5-3=8) and two PIM in 13 games with Florida this season. The 6-foot-1, 191-pound native of Delaware, ONT participated in the Aeros training camp in September before being assigned to Florida. Buck recorded two points (1-1=2) and four PIM in six AHL games with the Norfolk Admirals last season. He will wear No. 16 with the Aeros.

     The Aeros continue their four-game home stand tonight against the Milwaukee Admirals, 7:35 PM at Toyota Center. The game can be heard on 1070 AM KNTH and on ahllive.com.
