BARRY BRUST REASSIGNED TO HOUSTON

 

    HOUSTON - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Wade Dubielewicz from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). Also, Aeros General Manager Jim Mill today announced that goaltender Barry Brust has been reassigned to Houston from Florida of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

    Dubielewicz, 30 (1/30/79), is 11-10-0 with a 2.42 goals against average (GAA) and a .906 save percentage (SV%) in 24 games with Houston this season. He played three games with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2008-09, going 1-2-0 with a 3.56 GAA and a .870 SV% and also appeared in 21 games with Kazan Ak-Bars of the Kontinental Hockey League, posting an 11-8-3 record with a 2.77 GAA and a .892 SV%.

    The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Invermere, B.C., is 17-15-1 with a 2.64 GAA and a .916 SV% in 40 career NHL contests with the New York Islanders and Columbus. Dubielewicz won the AHL’s Dudley Garrett Award as Rookie of the Year in 2003-04, going 20-8-5 for Bridgeport with a 1.38 GAA and a .946 SV%. He teamed with Dieter Kochan to win the 2004 Harry Hap Holmes Memorial Award as the goaltending duo with the lowest GAA. Dubielewicz played collegiately at the University of Denver (1999-2003) and was an All-America selection in 2001-02. He was signed as a free agent by Minnesota on July 17, 2009 and will wear sweater #31 with the Wild.

    Brust, 26 (8/8/83), has posted a 9-3-2 record in 16 games for the Everblades this season with a 2.24 GAA and .926 SV%. He was 2-1-0 for the Aeros this season with a 2.48 GAA and .904 SV%. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound native of Swan River, Manitoba was reassigned to the Everblades January 13 and will wear number 33 for the Aeros.
