AEROS POSTGAME REPORT

OKLAHOMA CITY --- Goaltender Matt Hackett made 31 saves for his second pro shutout and four different players scored for Houston as the Aeros shut out the Oklahoma City Barons 5-0 on Saturday night at the Cox Convention Center.

The win meant the Aeros will finish Saturday no lower than holding sole possession of second place in the in the West Division playoff race.

Matt Kassian, Casey Wellman, Jed Ortmeyer and Patrick O’Sullivan all scored goals for the Aeros, who have won two-in-a-row and six of the last 10. Kassian’s goal at the 10:00 mark of the first period proved to be the game-winner. Ortmeyer recorded his first multi-goal game of the season for Houston. He bagged an even-strength tally in the first period and added a short-handed goal in the third.

The shutout was Houston’s third of the season and first since Jan. 7, when Hackett made 25 saves in a 3-0 victory over Lake Erie.
