GILLIES SIGNS TWO-YEAR CONTRACT WITH WILD
HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed re-signed LW Colton Gillies to a two-year contract.

Gillies, 22 (2/12/89), helped lead the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Houston Aeros to the Calder Cup Final in 2010-11, posting 26 points (11-15=26) and 82 penalty minutes (PIM) in 64 regular season games. Gillies had seven playoff goals, tied for the team lead, and ranked for third on the team in post-season scoring with 12 points (7-5=12) in 24 games.

Gillies also played seven games with the Wild, scoring one goal. Gillies skated 45 games with the Wild in the 2008-09 season, recording seven points (2-5=7). The 6-foot-4, 208-pound native of White Rock, B.C., was Minnesota’s first-round pick (No. 16 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
