The Minnesota Wild has recalled forwards Matt Kassian, Jed Ortmeyer and Chad Rau and defenseman Nate Prosser from the Aeros and reassigned forwards David McIntyre and Casey Wellman to Houston. The Aeros also signed center C.J. Stretch.

WILD RECALLS FOUR FROM AEROS, REASSIGNS TWO

HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forwards Matt Kassian, Jed Ortmeyer and Chad Rau and defenseman Nate Prosser from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned forwards David McIntyre and Casey Wellman to Houston. The Aeros also signed center C.J. Stretch to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
 
Kassian, 25 (10/28/86), has 25 penalty minutes (PIM) while averaging 6:16 TOI/game in four games for the Wild this season. He has four points (2-2=4) and 32 penalty minutes (PIM) in 24 games for the Aeros. Kassian has collected 37 PIM in eight career games with Minnesota. The 6-foot-5, 247-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta, wears sweater #28 with Minnesota.

Ortmeyer, 33 (9/3/78), has played in four games with the Wild this season. He has recorded 14 points (7-7=14), 28 PIM and a plus-9 rating in 29 games with Houston. The 6-foot-1, 203-pound native of Omaha, Neb., has skated in 314 NHL games in eight seasons with the New York Rangers, Nashville, San Jose and Minnesota, posting 51 points (21-30=51) and 147 PIM. He wears sweater #41 with the Wild.

Prosser, 25 (5/7/86), has tallied five assists and 18 penalty minutes (PIM) in 18 games with the Wild this season while averaging 20:02 in time on ice per contest. In 19 games with Houston he has tallied four assists, a plus-9 rating and five PIM. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Elk River, Minn., native has collected six assists in 23 career NHL matches with the Wild. Prosser wears sweater #39 with Minnesota.
 
Rau, 24 (1/18/87), has tallied 19 points (7-12=19) and a plus-4 rating in 38 games with Houston this season. The 5-foot-11, 184-pound native of Eden Prairie, Minn., has not appeared in an NHL game and will wear sweater #36 with Minnesota.
 
McIntyre, 24 (2/4/87), has tallied two points (1-1=2) in seven games with Minnesota this season. The 6-foot, 194-pound native of Oakville, Ont., made his NHL debut versus the Tampa Bay Lightning on Nov. 28.
 
Wellman, 24 (10/18/87), has recorded seven points (2-5=7) in 14 games with Minnesota this season. The 6-foot, 186-pound native of Brentwood, Calif., has collected 13 points (4-9=13) in 41 career games with the Wild.

Stretch, 22 (8/3/1989), leads the Ontario Reign in points this season and is currently in fifth place in ECHL scoring (18-23=41). The center has played in all 37 Reign games this season and boasted a six-game point streak from Oct. 28 through Nov. 11. The Irvine, Calif. native signed with the Reign during the 2009-10 season and scored a goal in his first pro game. The following season he registered 21 points (9-12=21) in 46 games. Prior to turning professional, the 5-foot-11, 195-pound forward appeared in 341 games with the Western Hockey League's Kamloops Blazers and posted 248 points (85g-163=248) over five seasons.
