Jeff Taffe, Justin Fontaine, Kris Foucault and Cody Almond each had a goal and an assist to lead the Houston Aeros to a 5-1 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins Friday at Van Andel Arena.

AEROS POSTGAME REPORT
FEB. 10: HOU 5, GR 1

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. ---
  Jeff Taffe, Justin Fontaine, Kris Foucault and Cody Almond each had a goal and an assist to lead the Houston Aeros to a 5-1 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins Friday at Van Andel Arena.

David McIntyre also scored, and Matt Hackett made 38 saves for Houston, which improved to 24-13-3-9 and cut Oklahoma City's lead atop the AHL's West Division to seven points, while extending their second place lead in the West to five points over Abbotsford.

Taffe scored his tenth goal of the season at 11:49 in the first period to make it 1-0, and Fontaine upped the lead to 2-0 five minutes later on a power play goal. Foucault scored his ninth goal of the season at 19:25 in the first to give the Aeros a 3-0 advantage after one period.

Logan Pyett cut the lead to 3-1 with a power play goal at 6:20 of the second period before McIntyre scored his 12th goal of the season at 2:12 of the third to extend the Aeros' lead to 4-1.

Almond finished the scoring at 8:46 of the third with his sixth goal of the season.

The Aeros continue their franchise record 11-game road trip at 6 p.m. Saturday at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Houston will return home March 10 against Grand Rapids at 7:35 p.m at Toyota Center.
