AEROS PROMOTE AUSTIN TO DIRECTOR OF SALES
HOUSTON, Texas The American Hockey Leagues Houston Aeros have promoted Peter Austin to director of sales, the team announced Tuesday. In addition, the Aeros have promoted Tiffany Shultz to office manager/accounting, and named Rochelle Freeman receptionist/accounting assistant.
The 30-year-old Austin is in his second season with the Aeros, and he previously served as account executive. The McComb, Miss., native attended Millsaps College and has his MBA from the University of Mississippi. Austin played baseball at Millsaps and was drafted in the 40th round (No. 1202 overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1997 Draft. He played one year of minor league baseball in the Pirates organization. Austins many responsibilities include heading up the Houston Aeros Fan Club.
Shultz, 28, joined the Aeros in July 2004 from Southwest Airlines, where she served as a flight attendant. The Clear Brook High School graduate was previously the Aeros receptionist/accounting assistant.
Freeman, 23, moves into a full-time role with the Aeros after recently completing an internship with the team. The Kingwood native played soccer at Texas A&M.
