AEROS RECALL D STOKES

Rookie blueliner is plus-20, with 16 points with ECHL Pensacola

HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Aeros have recalled defenseman Ryan Stokes from ECHL Pensacola, the teams announced Monday. Stokes is expected to join the Aeros in time for their four-game road trip, which kicks off Wednesday in Utah at 8:05 p.m.



Stokes, 21, has posted 16 points (1-15=16) and 119 penalty minutes in 59 games with the Ice Pilots, who sport the ECHL’s best record. Stokes has a plus-20 rating, ranked fifth among all ECHL rookies. After tallying one point in his first 16 games, Stokes has notched 15 points in his last 44 games. Stokes has five two-assist games. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound native of Corruna, Ont., played junior hockey for Barrie and Mississauga.



Stokes played one pre-season game with the Aeros without recording a point.
