AEROS, KNTH RENEW PARTNERSHIP FOR NEXT TWO SEASONS

News Talk 1070 to again air games

HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Aeros and News Talk 1070 KNTH-AM are proud to announce a partnership to broadcast both the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons, including Sunday games. Ken Double, the “Voice of the Aeros”, will once again call all the action. Games will be broadcast on the Internet via www.aeros.com as well.

“The Aeros received tremendous feedback from our fanbase after beginning our partnership with KNTH last January,” Aeros president Tom Garrity said. “I’d like to thank Chuck Jewell and his staff for working hard to allow every Sunday game on the air as well. KNTH has one of the strongest AM signals in Houston, which is of great benefit to our fans in The Woodlands, Katy, Sugar Land and other outlying areas of Harris and surrounding counties.”

“KNTH Radio is delighted to once again be a part of the Houston Aeros team,” KNTH/KKHT general manager Chuck Jewell said. “Following up on last year's mid-season beginning, we look forward to our first full season of games, and the start of a long and certainly successful partnership both on and off the ice. We at News Talk 1070 are proud to bring Aeros’ hockey to the fans in Houston.”

The only game that will not be on KNTH is the Aeros’ annual Chronicle in Education Kids Day on Tuesday, Feb. 7. That game will be available on www.aeros.com. The following three games will be joined in progress beginning at 7 p.m. (ct): Friday, Dec. 9; Friday, Feb. 10 and Wednesday, Feb. 15

News Talk 1070 KNTH-AM is a part of Salem Communications Corporation, the leading radio broadcaster focused on Christian and family themes programming. The station offers a strong line-up of syndicated talk show hosts including Bill Bennett (5-8 AM), Mike Gallagher (8-11AM), Dennis Prager (11AM-1PM), Dave Ramsey (1-3PM), Michael Medved (3-5PM), and Hugh Hewitt (5-8PM). In addition, listeners get local news, weather and traffic throughout the day.

Double returns for his sixth season as “The Voice of the Aeros”. The veteran broadcaster began his career in Indiana at WBAT radio in 1975, reading news, sports, play-by-play and talk shows. Since then, he has been seen and heard as a sports anchor in Indianapolis, been the play-by-play voice of the NBA Indiana Pacers, Purdue Men’s Basketball and part of the radio team for the Indianapolis 500. Double is in his 17th season of hockey play-by-play, having also worked for NHL Chicago, IHL Indianapolis and Atlanta and ECHL Jacksonville.

The Aeros also announced that their game in Peoria scheduled for Wednesday, March 29 has been changed to Tuesday, March 28 also at 7 p.m. Click here for an updated, printable schedule.
