December 2, 2010 will mark our 8th Annual Kids Game.

December 2nd at 11:05 am will mark our 8th annual TAKS Test Kids game. This game is the Aeros’ way of helping prepare area students for the TAKS test by giving them practice for the test while learning about hockey.

The field trip is offered to all Houston area schools, elementary through high school, and is designed to help children in the Houston area prepare for their standardized state TAKS tests. The Aeros are tying in school curriculums with our game on December 2nd to provide a fun, learning environment for the students. Students who participate receive a TAKS and TEKS lesson plan booklet, prior to the game. This is a fun study guide with TAKS questions related to the sport of hockey.

Last year the event drew over 11,000 students representing more than 60 schools and 14 different school districts. Many of the schools that participated last year have already called to secure their spot for this year. Tickets are $10 each and schools have the option of purchasing box lunches for an additional fee.

For this day the doors open at 9:00 am and the game starts at 11:00. The game should not go any longer then 1:30. However if schools need to leave earlier we can accommodate. During the game we go through the questions in the study guide and award prizes. For lunches we allow outside food and beverages in so students can pack their own lunch or buy concessions. Buses will be allowed to park for free on this day also.
