COACH ROB DAUM ON BRYAN LUNDBOHM

We’re really fortunate to have him. He’s really consistent with his play. He’s a very intelligent player who makes very few mistakes. He plays with Olson and Ward primarily because of his defensive abilities, but he’s also going to get a little bit more offensive responsibility with our team now with Taticek gone and Rem Murray gone . He’s consistent night in and night out. He gives us a real strong effort. He’s a real key part of our team. Even though you look at Law, and Westrum, O'Sullivan, you look at Murphy, you look at all of those guys. It takes a lot of different players and different types of players to have a successful team. Bryan is a huge part of our success because of what he does.

The Lighter Side of Bryan Lundbohm

Michael McHugh: What is your greatest strength as a player?

Bryan Lundbohm: I’d like to think that I’m a pretty dependable player and that I play hard every night. My game stays pretty consistent where I don’t have to many peaks and valleys. I’ve kind of gotten into a role where I’m solid defensively and hopefully can pitch in with a few goals once in a while.

MM: What is the toughest part of your job?

BL: For me now that I’m married and have a son, (wife Misty and 10-month-old son Preston) the toughest thing is being on the road and away from the family. It gets to be a little long sometimes when you’re playing 80 games and 40 of them on the road.

MM: What would you do if you were not a hockey player?

BL: I’m not really sure. I guess I would be doing something in the accounting/finance world. I went to school for that when I was at college so I would probably be doing something in the business world.

MM: What did you have for dinner last night?

BL: Steak potatoes asparagus. Pretty good

MM: Favorite Restaurant?

BL: PF Chang’s

MM: Favorite TV Show?

BL: Sopranos and The Shield and Boston Legal

MM: If they made a movie about you who would you want to play you?

BL: Guys say I look like Eminem so maybe him.

MM: If you were stuck on a island, besides family who would you want with you?

BL: Somebody who knew how to fish pretty well so I wouldn't starve.

MM: Name someone you would like to meet.

BL: I would like to meet Tiger Woods

MM: In your career, what do you remember most?

BL: Some of my greatest hockey moments are that I’ve been able to be on some real good winning teams. One of the big moments was when I was in college and won the National Championship at North Dakota. Then, a few years later we won the Calder Cup with Milwaukee, so both of those are pretty neat memories.

MM: Favorite outing in your hometown (Roseau, Minn.)?

BL: Golfing and spending time at the cabin on the lake. We have a couple of lake cabins, my wife and my parents have, and we both like to spend time at the lake so we do a lot of that.

MM: If you got a tattoo, what would it be of?

BL: I wouldn’t get a tattoo.

MM: Most treasured possession?

BL: My wife and son.

MM: Why do people call you Whitey?

BL: When I grew up I just had real blond hair and it stuck, but it really hasn’t stuck so much through pro hockey, but I was called that quite a bit when I was younger.

MM: If you and your teammates were the cast of Friends, who would play the role of:

Chandler: Erik Reitz

Monica: (laughs) that’s tough – Seamus Kotyk

Joey: Matt Foy

Ross: Erik Westrum

Phoebe: Curtis Murphy

Rachel: Joel Ward
