WILD RECALLS WARD; AEROS ASSIGN QUESADA TO CHL AUSTIN
HOUSTON, Texas – The National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild has recalled right wing Joel Ward from the American Hockey League’s Houston Aeros, the teams announced Wednesday. In addition, the Aeros have loaned rookie goaltender Tony Quesada to the Central Hockey League’s Austin Ice Bats.
Ward, 26 (12/2/80), has eight points (4-4=8) and 18 penalty minutes in 27 games for the Aeros this season. He was originally recalled to Minnesota on December 13 and posted one assist in six games before being reassigned to the Aeros on January 2. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Toronto native put up 22 points (8-14=22) in 66 games as a rookie with the Aeros in 2005-06.
Quesada, 24 (11/7/82), is 0-4-0 with a 4.62 gaa in five appearances for the Aeros. The Holy Cross product also appeared in one period for the ECHL’s Texas Wildcatters, allowing three goals on 10 shots.
