WILD RECALLS D ERIK REITZ
SAINT PAUL/Minneapolis, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough has announced that the National Hockey League club has recalled defenseman Erik Reitz from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.
Reitz, 24 (7/29/82), is in his fifth season with the Aeros, totaling 16 points (3-13=16) and a team-high 80 penalty minutes in 36 games this season. Reitz is the fifth defenseman in team history to post 100 career points – he has 101 (21-80=101) and 570 penalty minutes in 277 career games. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound native of Detroit, Mich., appeared in five games for the Wild in 2005-06, registering four penalty minutes. A member of the Aeros’ Calder Cup championship team in 2003, Reitz was Minnesota’s sixth-round draft pick (No. 170 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
The Aeros are at Toyota Center on Friday against the Manchester Monarchs at 7:35 p.m. It's Mullet Madness Night. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Mullet wig.
