The Moose and Aeros split two games at Toyota Center in December, with Manitoba winning 4-1 but the Aeros avenging that defeat 3-1, three days later. Houston is 38-21-10-1 all-time versus the Moose. The Aeros, however, have dropped three of their first four games in Winnipeg’s three-year old MTS Centre.
Manitoba (39-17-7-4) is the hottest team in the AHL, having won eight straight and 17 of 18. The run has propelled the Moose to an eight-point lead over second-place Hamilton in the North Division.

It’s the final meeting of the season between the Aeros and Moose. Manitoba’s head coach is former Aero Scott Arniel.

Fund the Fight Night
The teams meet for the second time in six days, after Rochester handed the Aeros just their second regulation loss in 11 all-time meetings, 3-1. Houston swept two games last season by a combined 10-3 margin but fell to 6-2-3-0 all-time against the Amerks. Houston sports a 3-1-1-0 home mark against Rochester.
Rochester (39-26-1-0) had lost 10 of 12 before Sunday’s victory over the Aeros. The Americans are in third place in the North Division with 79 points – two behind Hamilton and four clear of fourth-place Grand Rapids.

The Aeros have just a single victory against Omaha in eight attempts this season (1-4-0-3). Houston, however, has points in three of the four home meetings (1-1-0-2). The teams played four straight shootout games earlier this season. Houston is 8-5-1-4 in 18 all-time meetings with Omaha, including a 6-1-0-2 home mark.
Omaha (39-22-4-1) is winless in its last two (0-1-1-0) and trails first-place Chicago by four points, but with three games in hand.

Aeros D Curtis Murphy missed all three games last week after playing 348 games in a row with the Aeros, counting the regular- and post-seasons. He had played in 282 straight regular-season games overall since missing the 2003-04 season opener to attend Dan Snyder’s funeral. Murphy had missed just one of his prior 521 games.
The Aeros’ 15-game road winless slide (0-12-2-1) is the longest in one AHL season since Springfield’s 16-game skid from December 31, 2004-April 3, 2005. Houston’s nine straight road regulation losses tie Binghamton’s AHL season-high.
RW Joey Tetarenko scored his second goal of his Aeros career Sunday, in his 84th game. Tetarenko has four points (1-3=4), his most since totaling seven (1-6=7) in 57 games in 2003-04 with Lowell.
C Jason Morgan has 299 points (97-202=299) in 618 professional games.
The Aeros killed off all three of Rochester’s shorthanded chances on Sunday, the first time in 11 games they didn’t allow their opponent a power play goal.
The Aeros haven’t led after one in any of their past 11 games, having allowed the game’s first goal nine times. Houston has been outscored 11-4 in the first period of its last nine games, and has yielded nine first-period goals in its last five outings.

Friday: Jaime Sifers, John Mitchell, Tyson Nash and Chris Harrington scored a goal apiece, as the Toronto Marlies knocked off the Houston Aeros 4-3 at Ricoh Coliseum. Justin Pogge made 20 saves and Aleksander Suglobov had three assists for Toronto.
Benoit Pouliot tallied a goal and an assist, Aaron Voros and Danny Irmen each added a goal and Dieter Kochan made 28 saves for Houston.
Saturday: Curtis Glencross scored 35 seconds into the game, Jeffrey Szwez added a power play goal and Tomas Kloucek tacked on his first AHL goal since November 2002, as Syracuse defeated Houston 4-1 at War Memorial at Oncenter. Zenon Konopka also scored and Tomas Popperle made 22 saves for Syracuse.
Jason Morgan scored a goal and Tony Quesada stopped 19 shots for Houston.
Sunday: Janis Sprukts and Drew Larman scored a goal apiece and Adam Dennis made 24 saves, as the Rochester Americans defeated the Houston Aeros 3-1 at Blue Cross Arena at War Memorial. Kamil Kreps also scored for Rochester. Joey Tetarenko scored his first goal of the season and Dieter Kochan stopped 31 shots for Houston.
