TEN FORMER AEROS HEADLINE MINNESOTA WILD PROSPECTS CAMP

Camp to be held July 24-30 in Minnesota

HOUSTON, Texas – Ten players who spent the 2006-07 season with the Houston Aeros are scheduled to attend the Minnesota Wild’s 2007 Prospects Camp in Minnesota, July 24-30. Aeros in attendance will include LW Ryan Hamilton, RW Danny Irmen, LW Peter Olvecky, LW Benoit Pouliot, LW Roman Voloshenko, D Paul Albers, D Shawn Belle, D John Scott, D Clayton Stoner and G Miroslav Kopriva.

The seven-day camp will focus on the development of the organization’s top young prospects in both on-ice and off-ice settings. A total of 31 players are scheduled to attend, including 22 selected by Minnesota in the NHL Entry Draft. Minnesota Wild coaches Mike Ramsey, Mario Tremblay and Bob Mason, along with new Houston Aeros Head Coach Kevin Constantine will lead the on-ice sessions. The prospects will also participate in daily strength and conditioning education sessions and receive nutritional instruction.

Hamilton, 22 (4/15/85), tallied 16 points (7-9=16) and 36 PIM in 62 games with the Aeros last season. Irmen, 22 (9/6/84), became the first rookie in Aeros team history to play in all 80 games, and ranked fourth on the team with 37 points (20-17=37) and recorded 45 PIM. Olvecky, 21 (10/11/85), tallied 27 points (12-15=27) and 46 PIM in 69 games with the Aeros. Pouliot, 20 (9/29/86), played in 67 games with Houston and ranked fifth on the team in both points (19-17=36) and PIM (109). Voloshenko, 21 (5/12/86), recorded 30 points (11-19=30) and 22 PIM in 76 games with the Aeros.

Albers, 21 (10/15/85), played five games with the Aeros and recorded two PIM. Albers was an ECHL All-Star with the Texas Wildcatters. Belle, 22 (1/3/85), played in 57 games with Houston and recorded 18 points (4-14=18) and 73 PIM. Belle also played nine games with the Wild and had one assist. Scott, 24 (9/26/82), tallied six points (1-5=6) and 107 PIM in 65 games with the Aeros. Stoner, 22 (2/19/85), played in 65 games for Houston and recorded seven points (1-6=7) and 104 PIM. Kopriva, 23 (12/5/83), played in 13 games, with a 3-6-1 record, a 3.72 goals against average and a .899 save percentage.
