The Houston Aeros staff was busy at work Friday, but not the normal hockey work that goes along with preparing for an 80-game American Hockey League season. The Aeros staff visited both, the KPRC-Local 2 studios and the Houston Food Bank Friday to lend a helping hand during the aftermath of Hurricane Ike.
Several Aeros staff members went to the KPRC-Channel 2 studios to answer phones for the Neighbor 2 Neighbor hotline. Aeros staff members answered questions from members of the Houston community regarding anything from power outages to locations for PODS and school information. The remainder of the Aeros staff went to the Houston Food Bank to help load trucks with supplies for many people that are in need throughout the Houston area. The food bank was very thankful for the help from members of the community over the past few days, but stressed that the need for help will continue in the coming months. The Aeros will continue to volunteer their services before and during their 15th Anniversary season. For information about the Aeros, call (713) 974-PUCK or visit AEROS.com.
