MINNESOTA WILD ASSIGNS C/LW BENOIT POULIOT TO AHL HOUSTON
HOUSTON, Texas – Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned center/left wing Benoit Pouliot (pronounced BEHN-wah, POO-lee-ott) to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Pouliot, 22 (9/29/86), recorded 11 points (5-6=11) and was plus-1 while averaging 11:50 of ice time in 37 games with the Wild this season. In 51 career NHL games, the 6-foot-3, 196-pound native of Alfred, Ont., has posted 14 points (7-7=14) and 18 penalty minutes. Pouliot was the Wild’s first-round pick (No. 4 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
