.-Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) has reduced its training camp roster to 28.  The Wild have reassigned forwards Chad Rau, Carson McMillan, Colton Gillies, and Cody Almond, defensemen Jamie Fraser, Tyler Cuma, Jared Spurgeon, Maxim Noreau and Nate Prosser, along with goaltender Matt Hackett to the Houston Aeros.

The Wild also placed forwards Jon DiSalvatore, Robbie Earl, Warren Peters and Petr Kalus on waivers for the purpose of reassigning them to Houston on Tuesday.

Rau played in 79 games last season for the Aeros in which he totaled 38 points with 19 goals (19+19=38) and seven PIM.

McMillan played in 56 games for the Aeros last season and scored eight points with four goals and four assists and 70 PIM.

Gillies played in 72 games for the Aeros last season scoring 20 points with seven goals (7+13=20) and 73 PIM.

Almond played in 48 games for the Aeros last season scoring 18 points with seven goals (7+11=18).  Almond, along with fellow Aeros teammate Jarod Palmer each had five points to lead the Minnesota Wild to the championship of the Traverse City Prospects Tournament earlier this month. 

Fraser played in 59 games last season for the Aeros, scoring 22 points with 6 goals (6+16=22) along with 36 PIM.

Cuma played in 52 games for the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) last season where he scored 22 points with five goals and 17 assists (5+17=22) along with 73 PIM.

Spurgeon played in 54 games for the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL) last season where he scored 51 points with eight goals and 43 assists (8+43=51) along with 18 PIM.

Noreau played in 76 games for the Aeros last season scoring 52 points with 18 goals and 34 assists (18+34=52) along with 60 PIM.

Prosser played in 39 games last season for Colorado College where he scored 28 points with 4 goals and 24 assists (4+24=28) along with 58 PIM in NCAA action. He also made his professional debut with the Minnesota Wild last season playing in three games and recording an assist along with eight PIM.
Hackett played in 56 games for the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) where he was 33-18-3 with a 2.62 GAA and a .925 save percentage. 

DiSalvatore was tied for second in team scoring for the Aeros last season with 52 points on 21 goals and 31 assists (21+31=52) along with 28 PIM. 

Earl played in 41 games for the Aeros last season scoring 18 points with 10 goals and eight assists (10+8=18) and 16 PIM before being recalled by Minnesota. Earl played in 32 games for the Wild last season scoring six points, all on goals (6+0-6) with 6 PIM. 

Peters played in 61 games for the Texas Stars last season scoring 34 points with 20 goals and 14 assists (20+14=34) along with 52 PIM.  Peters also played in 23 games in the postseason helping the Stars to the Western Conference Championship and the Calder Cup Finals.  Peters totaled eight points with four goals and four assists (4+4=8) with 56 PIM in Calder Cup Playoffs.

Kalus played in 66 games for the Aeros last season scoring 23 points with 12 goals and 11 assists (12+11=23) along with 77 PIM.
