AEROS SNAP SKID, BEAT STARS 3-1

CEDAR PARK, Texas --- Three different players scored and Anton Khudobin made 29 saves as the Houston Aeros snapped their six-game winless skid in a 3-1 victory over the Texas Stars at the Cedar Park Center Saturday night.

Marco Scandella and Carson McMillan scored goals 4:23 apart in the first to pace the Aeros to a 2-0 lead. Houston, which entered the game with a 2-0-0-0 record when leading after the first, took a lead into the second 20 minutes of action for the first time since an Oct. 15 win at Oklahoma City.

Fabian Brunnstrom's goal with 1:24 left in the first cut the Aeros lead in half, but Nate Prosser regained the two-goal advatage for the Aeros with his first pro goal 2:12 into the third.

The Stars outshot the Aeros 23-13 in the first 40 minutes, but Khudobin stopped 22 of those to help the Aeros carry the lead into the final period. Texas goalie Richard Bachman made 14 saves in the loss as the Stars saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.

The Aeros and Stars play the back end of a home-and-home set at Toyota Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
