AEROS POSTGAME REPORT
AEROS FALL 4-2 AT TORONTO

TORONTO --- Carson McMillan and Warren Peters provided the offense but the Houston Aeros relinquished a two-goal lead in a 4-2 decision to the Toronto Marlies Sunday at Ricoh Coliseum.

The loss halted Houston’s points streak at seven games (6-0-0-1) and dropped the team into a three-way tie with Oklahoma City and Milwaukee for the No. 2 position in the West Division. The Aeros (25-19-13, 56 pts.) sit one point out of first place.

Simon Gysbers scored the game-winner and added two assists while Jeff Cowan bagged two goals for the Marlies.
McMillan gave Houston a 1-0 lead with his eighth goal of the season 1:55 into the game and Peters scored for the second time in as many games to make it a 2-0 game 13:44 into the second.

Toronto’s comeback began with Cowan’s power play goal at 17:34 of the middle stanza. The Marlies responded with three goals in the third period, including Gysber’s game-winner at the 16:04 mark and Cowan’s empty-netter to seal the win.

Matt Caruana also scored for the Marlies and Mike Zigomanis notched two assists.

Jussi Rynnas earned the win with 24 saves for Toronto while Matt Hackett took the loss with 22 stops.
