AEROS WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT IN 4-1 VICTORY OVER STARS

CEDAR PARK, Texas --- Patrick O’Sullivan and Cody Almond each registered a goal and an assist while Jon DiSalvatore chipped in with three helpers as the Houston Aeros won their fourth-straight game in a 4-1 victory over the Texas Stars on Tuesday night at the Cedar Park Center.

The win pulled the Aeros into a first place tie in the American Hockey League’s West Division. Houston has won 10 of its last 12 games and five of its last six away from Toyota Center.

The Aeros opened up a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Justin Falk and Jed Ortmeyer. Falk scored his second goal of the season just 1:01 into the game, while Ortmeyer notched his first as an Aero at 14:44.

O’Sullivan rifled home his fourth goal in his last three games at the 5:21 mark of the middle period to make it a 3-0 Houston lead.

Houston goaltender Anton Khudobin, who stopped 22 shots through the first 40 minutes, saw his shutout bid spoiled midway through the third period on Colton Sceviour’s 10th goal of the season. Khudobin earned the win, his 16th of the season, with 32 total stops.

Almond’s 11th goal of the season came with 4:48 left in the game and helped secure the win for the Aeros, who get right back to action on Wednesday night at Rockford. Face off against the IceHogs is set for 6:35 p.m.
