Nate Prosser and Casey Wellman have been reassigned by the Minnesota Wild to the Aeros. Both players were key members of the Aeros Calder Cup Finals run.

WILD REASSIGNS PROSSER AND WELLMAN TO AEROS

HOUSTON (OCTOBER 1, 2011) --- Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill today announced that defenseman Nate Prosser and forward Casey Wellman have been reassigned to the Aeros from the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Aeros are the 2011 American Hockey League (AHL) Western Conference Champions and primary affiliate of the Wild.

Prosser, 25 (5/7/86), recorded 27 points (8-19=27) in 73 games with the Aeros last season and finished the season with a plus-12 rating. He also saw action in two NHL games with the Wild. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound native of Elk River, Minn., tallied an assist in his NHL debut at Edmonton on April 5, 2010. He played four seasons at Colorado College, recording 64 points (12-52=64) and 178 PIM in 137 career collegiate game and was originally signed by Minnesota as a free agent on March 18, 2010.

Wellman, 23, (10/18/87), has appeared in 27 games with Minnesota during parts of the last two seasons, notching six career points (2-4=6). Last season he saw action in 15 games, collecting two points (1-1=2) and four penalty minutes (PIM).  With the Aeros, he tallied 35 points (14-21=35) in 42 games and added 11 points (6-5=11) in 24 playoff games. He recorded just the second four-goal game in Aeros history on Dec. 10, 2010 vs. San Antonio. His six playoff goals ranked tied for third on the team. Wellman was signed by Minnesota as a free agent on March 16, 2010, after playing two seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

The Aeros visit the Texas Stars on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. for their second and final preseason contest. The regular season home-opener is set for Sunday, Oct. 9 versus Chicago at 5:05 p.m. Aeros single-game tickets are on sale now at the Toyota Center Box Office and online at Aeros.com.
