The Wild has recalled forward Jed Ortmeyer from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Wild has also reassigned forward Cody Almond to Houston.

WILD RECALLS ORTMEYER, REASSIGNS ALMOND
HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Jed Ortmeyer from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Wild has also reassigned forward Cody Almond to Houston.
Ortmeyer, 33 (9/3/78), has one assist in 10 games with the Wild this season and averaged 9:06 TOI/game. He has recorded 18 points (8-10=18), 32 PIM and a plus-10 rating in 34 games with Houston. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Omaha, Neb., was signed by the Wild as a free agent Jan. 5, 2011. Ortmeyer wears No. 41 with the Wild.
Almond, 22 (7/24/89), has tallied one goal in nine games with Minnesota this season. He has collected 12 points (6-6=12), a plus-one rating and 47 penalty minutes (PIM) in 25 matches with the Aeros. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, has notched two goals in 24 career games with the Wild. He was drafted by Minnesota in the fifth round (No. 140 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
