HOUSTON AEROS REVEAL PROMOTIONS SCHEDULE FOR 2012-13
Aeros Host Opening Night on Saturday, October 13th

Houston, TX – The Houston Aeros announced on Wednesday the promotions schedule for the 2012-13 season. Click here to view entire promotions schedule.

The Aeros kick-off the team’s 12th season in the AHL with Opening Night on Saturday, October 13th versus the Charlotte Checkers. As part of the opening night festivities, the team will honor the 40th anniversary of the first Aeros hockey game in Houston. The first 2,500 fans to Opening Night will receive an Aeros 2012-13 Magnetic Schedule, compliments of 1070 KNTH and CiCi’s Pizza. The Aeros will host four home games in October, including Chilly’s costume contest on Saturday, October 27th when the Houston hosts Milwaukee. Prior to the game, the first 2,000 fans to the game will be handed a Chilly Halloween photo, compliments of American Business Machines.

The Aeros start November with Koozies for the first 1,000 fans on Thursday, November 8. It marks the beginning of “Thirsty Thursdays” from the Maple Leaf Pub. As part of the promotion, the Maple Leaf Pub will hand out a limited number of “2nd drink free” coupons prior to every Thursday night home game during the regular season. In all, there will be six “Thirsty Thursdays” throughout the season.

The Aeros and Texas Army National Guard will host Military Night on Friday, November 9th. The first 1,500 fans will receive an Aeros Rally Towel, compliments of Texas Army National Guard. The team will also host the first of eight drives for charity throughout the season, starting with a Care Package drive for all military personnel overseas. Two tickets for select future games will be awarded for each donation (up to ten per person).  To round out November, the Aeros will host Girl Scout Night and their first ever Peanut Butter and Jelly drive (up to ten per person). For every fan that brings in a jar of peanut butter or jelly, the team will reward them with two tickets to select future home games.

Houston starts its December schedule with Chilly’s Pets Pals on December 9th, benefitting the Houston Human Society. The club will host School Field Trip Day on Tuesday, December 11th – which features an 11:00 a.m. faceoff. On December 26th, the team will also host its annual Guns N Hoses game, as well as encourage fans to wear Ugly Holiday Sweaters. Prior to the game, the team will hand out 2,000 Aeros knit caps, sponsored by Living Social.

The team will ring in the New Year with the first game of 2013 at Toyota Center on January 1st with Oklahoma City in town. On January 5th, the first 2,000 youths to the game receive an Aeros youth jersey, compliments of Belknap Plumbing. On January 12th, the Aeros honor 94.5 FM morning show host Rod Ryan, with Rod Ryan bobbleheads for the first 3,000 fans. Houston will hold a two-day book drive over the weekend of January 12th and 13th. Any fan that brings a book will receive two tickets to select future home games (up to ten per person). As part of Chilly’s birthday weekend, the first 2,000 fans to the game on Saturday, January 13th will be handed a “Chilly Photo”.

On February 1st, the Aeros will host Texas and hand out 2,000 youth jerseys, compliments of Belknap Plumbing. The team will hold Boy Scout Night on Saturday, February 23rd, as Houston hosts Oklahoma City. The first 2,000 fans to the game will be handed a 2012-13 team photo, sponsored by Warehouse Pool Supply.

The team will hold its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Saturday, March 23rd. As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Night, the team will hold a silent auction for charity on the concourse. To round out March, the Aeros want to remind fans to “Go Green” on Friday, March 29th. As part of going “Green”, fans will be asked to bring in old cell phones for a Cell Phone Drive. Two tickets for select future home games will be awarded for each phone donation (up to ten per person).

In the last month of the season, the team will host Houston Eye Associates Night on Friday, April 5th vs. Chicago. The first 3,500 patrons will be given an Aeros magnetic picture frame, compliments of Houston Eye Associates. The team will host the last regular-season game and Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, April 13th.

The Aeros will play 76 regular-season games this season. The home portion of the schedule commences on Saturday, October 13, at 7:05 p.m. with the Charlotte Checkers at Toyota Center. The game will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first Aeros game played by the World Hockey Association (WHA) team in 1972.

Aeros season tickets start as low as $9 per seat and may be purchased online at Aeros.com by placing a $100 deposit. Once your order is processed, an Aeros ticket representative will contact you to choose your exact seat location, as well as discuss the payment options.
