STREET FLEET BRINGS FUN AND GAMES TO PEARLAND

PEARLAND, Texas – Pearland came alive with hockey fun as the Houston Aeros Street Fleet made an appearance at Independence Park last week. If you have never been to one of these events, you need to go!



It doesn’t have to be cold out to play hockey. Kids strapped on skates or tennis shoes, grabbed some hockey sticks (courtesy of the Aeros) and played an old fashioned game of hockey inside the park pavilion. Everyone had a good time. There were kids of all ages, and grown ups too.



Aeros staffers were on hand to help folks out who wanted to work on their shots and puck handling, or to just have fun shooting the puck into the slap shot inflatable.



The Aeros generously provided hot dogs, drinks, including ice cold water, and ice cream to cool things down.



Mascot Chilly made a grand appearance in the back of a truck, and the little kids ran to greet him. He joined in the hockey game as goalie, and everyone had a great time trying to score on him. Aeros director of communications Ryan Stanzel also tried his hand at goalie, and did a pretty good job! Aeros President Tom Garrity and Game Operations Director Ojinga Green were also enjoying the festivities. I had a lot of fun, and did my share of chasing the ball around.



The next Street Fleet will be in Sugar Land on July 4 at Lost Creek Park from 8-10 a.m. Be sure to stop in and check it out!
