Aeros unveil new jerseys, color scheme

Houston adopts red, green and gold

Houston, Texas – The Houston Aeros unveiled their new color scheme and home and road jerseys for the 2004-05 season at an event for fans and media tonight at Two Rows. The new jerseys and colors can be viewed on www.aeros.com, which has been relaunched to reflect the changes. On hand as a jersey model at tonight’s event was right wing Kirby Law, signed by Minnesota on Tuesday.

The F-18 Hornet inspired design is the dominant logo on the crest of the jersey. The white sweater has red, green and gold trim and a Minnesota Wild logo on each shoulder. “Last summer, we wanted to change our colors to reflect our ownership and affiliation with the Minnesota Wild and MSE,” Aeros president Tom Garrity said. “At the same time, we wanted to unveil a new logo for our 10th anniversary season, but due to the Calder Cup run it was too late for the AHL deadline.”

“The new look of the Houston Aeros visibly demonstrates how close the Aeros players are to playing in the National Hockey League,” said Aeros general manager/Wild assistant general manager Tom Lynn. “We want to show clearly to our fans and our opponents that the Houston Aeros players are an essential part of one of the finest organizations in the NHL.”

Also introduced tonight was the Houston Aeros Fan Club, which is free to all “Elite Fleet” full season ticketholders and available for $40 to fans who own 22-game, 13-game or voucher packs. Included in the Houston Aeros Fan Club are private monthly Fan Club events, also attended by players, such as a “Feed the Players” party, paintball, movie night, Bowl-A-Thon and Field Day Competitions.

Additionally, Fan Club members will get access to their own exclusive website with a private message board area, unique downloadable pictures, a Fan Club event calendar and much more. Also, Fan Club members will receive a special end of season gift, discounted tickets for selected games, a chance to be on a Season Ticketholder Focus Group, and a Fan Club Discount Card, including great Aeros game-day discounts to places like Two Rows, Home Plate Bar & Grill, Josephine’s Ristorante and China Garden.

The Aeros also introduced a new 12-member Sonic Boom dance squad, and a five-person Strike Force entertainment team. Finally, the 2004-05 advertising campaign “Be a Fan” was announced.

You can join the Aeros “Elite Fleet” today. Elite Fleet members get tickets to all 40 Aeros games for the price of 30, along with great benefits like guaranteed premium items and discounted merchandise. Elite Fleet packages start at just $300. Partial packages of 13 and 22 games are also on sale and begin at only $130.
