HOUSTON Houston Aeros President and General Manager Dave Barr announced today the Minnesota Wild (National Hockey League) have reassigned Aeros right winger Kyle Wanvig. He is expected to be in uniform tonight as Houston plays Norfolk in Game Three of the Western Conference Semi-finals.
Wanvig, 22 (1/29/81), led Houston in playoff scoring with four goals and one assist for five points in three games when he was recalled by Minnesota on Saturday, April 26. He joined the Wild for Games Two and Three of their NHL Western Conference Semi-finals series versus the Vancouver Canucks but did not play.
The Calgary, Alberta-native collected the game-winning goal in each game of the first round sweep of the Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League playoffs. Wanvig finished the regular season with 13 goals, 16 assists and 29 points in 57 games for Houston. The second-year pro made his NHL debut on November 25 and scored his first NHL goal on December 17 against the Edmonton Oilers.
Houston plays Game Three of their Western Conference Semi-finals round against Norfolk tonight on the road. Game time is 6:15 PM Central. Game Four is Friday at 6:30 PM. Both games will be joined-in-progress on AM 700 KSEV and www.aeros.com at 7:00 PM. Game Five is Sunday at 3:00 PM and will be broadcast in its entirety.
