Omaha makes its first-ever trip to Toyota Center, after the Aeros earned a pair of shootout victories in Nebraska last month. The Knights feature Steve Bancroft, a member of the Aeros’ 1999 Turner Cup championship team, and a pair of top 10 draft picks in Eric Nystrom and Brent Krahn. The hard-working Knights enter the week 5-5-0-3, in third place in the West.

The Aeros honor the U.S. Military on Veteran’s Day in their second straight game against Omaha. The Aeros are hosting active duty personnel, the families of military serving in war zones, families who have lost loved ones and dozens of newly enlisted military. The night will include special presentations to the active duty personnel including a number of marines recently back from Iraq and a swearing in ceremony to the new members of America’s military. To help provide tickets for the military personnel and their families, the Aeros are asking for sponsors. Click here for more information.

The Aeros get ready for next week’s Harry Potter movie premier against in-state rival San Antonio in the final game of a six-game homestand. Houston is 25-6-5-2 all-time versus the Rampage, including a stellar 16-2-1-0 home mark. The Aeros have won six straight home meetings with San Antonio dating back to a 2-1 OTL December 3, 2004. Houston hasn’t lost in regulation at Toyota Center in the last 10 meetings (9-0-1-0) since dropping a 6-3 decision January 16, 2004. The Aeros and Rampage split two games during the AHL’s opening weekend. Houston won 6-5 at home but the Rampage countered for a 3-2 win in San Antonio. San Antonio enters the week 4-9-0-0, tied for sixth in the West, and a loser of five straight.

SUN, at SAN, 5:05 p.m.
The Aeros make the return trip to San Antonio. Houston is 9-4-4-2 all-time at SBC Center. In the last 20 games overall against the Rampage, Houston is an impressive 15-2-2-1.

Aeros in the community - The Aeros and Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center have teamed up for blood drives during the 2005-06 season. The Aeros would like to ask all fans to "Commit For Life" and donate today at Memorial City Mall from 2-7 p.m. and all day at neighborhood donor centers. Sonic Boom, Chilly and Strike Force will be on hand at Memorial City Mall from 3-5 p.m. Donors receive a limited edition Aeros Blood Drive T-Shirt, while supplies last.

Leaderboard update – C Erik Westrum ranks second in the AHL in scoring with 23 points (7-16=23) and first in assists with 16…RW Kirby Law is sixth in scoring with 18 points (9-9=18)…D Kurtis Foster is tied for 11th in points with 14 (4-10=14), a total that has him tied for first in the AHL among defensemen…LW Roman Voloshenko is tied for 16th in the AHL in scoring with 13 points (9-4=13)…Voloshenko is second in the league in points among rookies, and he and Law are tied for fourth overall in goals with nine…D Curtis Murphy is tied for third among AHL defensemen in points with 11 (1-10=11).

Aeros lead the way – The Aeros (9-4-1-1) enter the week in first place in the AHL’s West Division with 20 points…Peoria is second with 18, but the Rivermen have three games in hand on the Aeros…Houston’s .667 points percentage is seventh best in the AHL.

Law ahead of pace – RW Kirby Law collected his ninth goal in his 15th game Sunday. In 2004-05, it took him 35 games to garner his ninth goal, on January 14, also against Manitoba. He actually scored goals nine and 10 that game.

Tough opponents no problem – The Aeros are 2-2-0-0 against teams with losing records, but 7-2-1-1 versus teams at or above the .500 mark.

Harding returns, and keeps up the good work – G Josh Harding is 12-3-1 in his last 16 regular-season games. His six wins this season are tied for second in the league despite missing 12 days and five games due to injury. He ranks second in saves.

Nailbiters the norm – The Aeros are 6-1-1-1 in one-goal games, tied with Hartford for the most such wins in the AHL.

Three is the winningest number – Houston is a perfect 9-0-0-0 when scoring three goals or more. The Aeros are winless at 0-4-1-1 when scoring two or fewer.

Bad boys – The Aeros’ 138 minor penalties are 18 more than any other AHL team.

Tallied five points (2-3=5) and was plus-one as Aeros went 2-0-0-1 in three games last week…Scored GWG with 5:57 left in regulation of 5-3 win over IOW Thursday…Added an assist on Kirby Law’s second-period goal…In Friday’s 3-2 shootout loss to MTB, assisted on Kirby Law’s goal with 4:48 remaining in regulation to force overtime…Notched PPG, and helped out on Kirby Law’s GWG in 3-2 win over MTB Sunday…Helper was his 100th AHL assist…Ranks second in AHL in scoring with 23 points (7-16=23) and first in assists with 16…Has already bettered his 2004-05 assist total with Utah in only 15 games…Had 33 points (18-15=33) last season for the Grizzlies.

Thursday: Erik Westrum snapped a tie with 5:55 left in regulation, and he and Kurtis Foster each finished with a goal and an assist, as the Houston Aeros defeated the Iowa Stars 5-3 at Toyota Center in the first-ever meeting between the teams. Clayton Stoner notched his first career goal, Kirby Law and Bryan Lundbohm also scored and Seamus Kotyk stopped 29 shots for the Aeros.
Friday: Jesse Schultz scored in regulation and notched the shootout’s lone goal, and Wade Flaherty stopped 24 shots and all five in the shootout, as the Manitoba Moose defeated the Houston Aeros 3-2 at Toyota Center. Jason Jaffray added a goal and an assist for Manitoba, which has won four straight overall, five in a row on the road and six straight against the Aeros.
Law and Curtis Murphy each scored and Kotyk made 27 saves for Houston
Sunday: Westrum tallied a goal and an assist, Law and Josh Olson also scored and Roman Voloshenko chipped in two assists, as the Houston Aeros defeated the Manitoba Moose 3-2 at Toyota Center. Josh Harding made 20 saves in his first action in 12 days due to injury.
