HOUSTON AEROS RECALL MIKE MONTGOMERY FROM ALLEN
Aeros Welcome Grand Rapids at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday

Houston, TX – Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced on Sunday the team has recalled defenseman Mike Montgomery from the Allen Americans, the Aeros Central Hockey League affiliate.

Montgomery attended training camp with the Aeros prior to his assignment to Allen on Oct. 11. In seven games with the Americans this season, the Minnesota native has one goal and two assists. The second-year pro split last season between Houston and the Ontario Reign of the ECHL. In 35 games with the Aeros, Montgomery scored one goal and set up three others for four points. In 27 games with the Reign, the 26-year old defender scored one goal and added one assist for two points.  Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, winning a national championship in 2011.

Houston will return home on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. with the Grand Rapids Griffins at Toyota Center. This season, every Sunday home game is a Sunday Family Day. Aeros fans may purchase four tickets, parking and four Aeros gifts starting at $54. Sunday’s game marks the first of four straight at Toyota Center, continuing on Thursday, Nov. 8 with a 7:05 p.m. faceoff with the Toronto Marlies. It will be a “Thirsty Thursday” compliments of The Maple Leaf Pub. As part of the promotion, the Maple Leaf Pub will hand out a limited number of “2nd drink free” coupons prior to every Thursday night home game during the regular season. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive a Koozie, compliments of The Maple Leaf Pub.

The Aeros and Texas Army National Guard will host Military Night on Friday, November 9th. The first 1,500 fans will receive an Aeros Rally Towel, compliments of Texas Army National Guard. The team will also host the first of eight drives for charity throughout the season, starting with a Care Package drive for all military personnel overseas. Two tickets for select future games will be awarded for each donation (up to ten per person). The Aeros will also wear Camouflage jerseys.

The team rounds out its four-game home stand on Sunday, Nov. 11 with the Texas Stars at 5:05 p.m. at Toyota Center. This season, every Sunday home game is a Sunday Family Day. Aeros fans may purchase four tickets, parking and four Aeros gifts starting at $54.

Aeros season tickets start as low as $9 per seat and may be purchased online at Aeros.com by placing a $100 deposit.
