HOUSTON AEROS RECALL PETERSEN, ASSIGN BALDWIN TO ORLANDO
Aeros Play at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at San Antonio
Houston, TX – Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced on Monday that forward Nick Petersen has been recalled from the Orlando Solar Bears, the Aeros ECHL affiliate. Mill also announced that defenseman Corbin Baldwin has been assigned to Orlando.
Petersen leads the Solar Bears in scoring with 19 points, posting eight goals and 11 assists in 14 games with Orlando. He is currently fourth in the ECHL in points and tied for ninth in assists. The 23-year old is in his third full season of pro hockey after splitting the last two seasons between Wilkes-Barre Scranton (AHL) and Wheeling (ECHL). In 75 AHL games, the right wing has 16 goals and 25 assists for 41 points. He was drafted by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (#121 overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Corbin Baldwin played in three games for the Aeros on his recent stint. He made his AHL debut on Nov. 2 in Oklahoma City and recorded his first AHL point with an assist against Toronto at home on Nov. 8. In nine games with Orlando this season, the 6-foot-5, 215-pounder recorded two assists and seven penalty minutes. The undrafted blueliner played for Spokane in the WHL from 2008-12. In 210 games with the Chiefs, he scored 11 goals and set up 55 others for 66 points. He also racked up 379 penalty minutes and a +59 over four seasons.
The Aeros will hit the road for three of their next four games, starting Tuesday at San Antonio. The Rampage will host the Aeros for a School Field Trip game at 10:30 a.m. at AT&T Center. Houston will play in Rockford on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7:05 p.m. and then venture to St. Paul, MN. The Aeros will host the Rockford Ice Hogs at the Xcel Energy Center, home of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 5:05 p.m. Prior to returning to home ice, the Aeros will play in San Antonio on Friday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Houston will host the Abbotsford Heat on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 5:05 p.m.
