Mike Van Ryn joined the Aeros in 2011 after serving as an assistant coach for the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League in 2010-11.
With the IceDogs, he worked with the defense and penalty kill, helping the team to their most successful season in franchise history, finishing with a 45-17-2-4 record. His work molding young defensemen helped Dougie Hamilton become the ninth overall selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
A defenseman, the London, Ontario, native played in 353 NHL contests with the St. Louis Blues, Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs. He also appeared in 105 AHL games with the Worcester IceCats and San Antonio Rampage. All totaled, Van Ryn competed in 458 pro games from 2000 to 2009 and posted 164 points (37-127-164) along with 325 penalty minutes (PIM).
Van Ryn was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the first round (26th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He played two seasons at the University of Michigan and another with the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League prior to his pro career.
Van Ryn and his wife Amber have two children, Kaylie and Tucker.

Please keep in mind that with the players’ busy schedules and the high volume of mail they receive, it may take some time for a response. There is always the possibility that items sent through the mail may be lost or damaged in transit. When sending an item to be autographed by an Aeros player, you do so at your own risk.
