Rich Bocchini

Biography:

Rich joined the Aeros in October, 2010. He serves as the primary media contact for the club, leads planning and implementation of public relations efforts, manages the day-to-day upkeep of Aeros.com and is the editorial director for the site. In addition, he writes press releases and game notes, serves as a team spokesman, assists the hockey operations staff and helps coordinate player appearances and credential requests.

Prior to joining the Aeros, Rich spent five seasons with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League, where he was the team's radio and TV play-by-play broadcaster as well as communications director.

The Pawtucket, RI, native has held similar roles with the Knoxville Speed (UHL) and Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL). He also spent five seasons in two separate stints with the Worcester IceCats (AHL) as a radio color analyst, back-up play-by-play announcer and media relations assistant.

Named the CHL's Communications Executive of the Year for his efforts during the 2008-09 season, Bocchini was also a three-time finalist for the award. His play-by-play work resulted in three selections to broadcast the CHL All Star Game and two finalist nods for the CHL Broadcaster of the Year Award.

Rich also served four seasons as the radio and TV play-by-play voice and communications director of the now defunct Rio Grande Valley Dorados (Arena Football 2). He has called independent pro baseball play-by-play and spent time as an anchor/reporter for KGBT Action 4 Sports, a CBS affiliate, in Harlingen, Texas.

Rich is a graduate of Rhode Island College with a degree in Communications/Public Relations.

Player Autograph Requests
:
Your interest in the Houston Aeros and our players is important to us and these guidelines will better help your chances for a response and allow more requests to be fulfilled.

The autograph request guidelines are as follows:

  • Players will only sign one item per request.
  • A self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) must be provided to help ensure a response. Items without proper return postage will not be returned.
  • Forms of return postage such as postage coupons or money (cash or check) will not be accepted. If cash or check is sent, it will be donated to a charity of the Aeros choice. Return postage should consist of stamps from your native country.
  • Do not send items for multiple players in the same envelope.
  • Players will not be able to personalize any autographs.
  • It is highly recommended that you refrain from sending any items of importance or value. The Houston Aeros organization can not guarantee a response from a player.
  • The Houston Aeros organization is not responsible for lost or unreturned items.

Please keep in mind that with the players’ busy schedules and the high volume of mail they receive, it may take some time for a response. There is always the possibility that items sent through the mail may be lost or damaged in transit. When sending an item to be autographed by an Aeros player, you do so at your own risk.

Pocket Schedule Requests:
