Rich joined the Aeros in October, 2010. He serves as the primary media contact for the club, leads planning and implementation of public relations efforts, manages the day-to-day upkeep of Aeros.com and is the editorial director for the site. In addition, he writes press releases and game notes, serves as a team spokesman, assists the hockey operations staff and helps coordinate player appearances and credential requests.
Prior to joining the Aeros, Rich spent five seasons with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League, where he was the team's radio and TV play-by-play broadcaster as well as communications director.
The Pawtucket, RI, native has held similar roles with the Knoxville Speed (UHL) and Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL). He also spent five seasons in two separate stints with the Worcester IceCats (AHL) as a radio color analyst, back-up play-by-play announcer and media relations assistant.
Named the CHL's Communications Executive of the Year for his efforts during the 2008-09 season, Bocchini was also a three-time finalist for the award. His play-by-play work resulted in three selections to broadcast the CHL All Star Game and two finalist nods for the CHL Broadcaster of the Year Award.
Rich also served four seasons as the radio and TV play-by-play voice and communications director of the now defunct Rio Grande Valley Dorados (Arena Football 2). He has called independent pro baseball play-by-play and spent time as an anchor/reporter for KGBT Action 4 Sports, a CBS affiliate, in Harlingen, Texas.
Rich is a graduate of Rhode Island College with a degree in Communications/Public Relations.
